This will be my last post before my much-anticipated Meta-Contest drops this Sunday the 13th. You still will be able to sign up for the contest after Sunday (the contest runs through the first weekend in March), but for speedy solvers and solvers especially efficient at solving meta puzzles do have an extra incentive, as the first solver to submit a correct Final Answer will be automatically in the final four drawing for the Grand Prize (subscriptions to Fireball Crosswords and a magazine of their choice, plus $50), and is guaranteed a First Prize (a Fireball subscription). So if you haven’t signed up yet, head over to the contest page.

Back on track with a Rows Garden this week. I’m thrilled to report that I’m currently on vacation in sunny Longboat Key, Florida, soaking up the sun and working on my tennis game. Cheers!

1/8/13 10:14 EST UPDATE: Off on my column headings; for those who have already printed out, the F row starts with the “Trivia magazine…” clue, not the “Maintained with confidence” clue. I have updated the files above. Thanks to Al S. for bringing this to the attention of the staff.

Hi Andrew, nice puzzle, thanks. FYI, there’s a slight glitch in the alignment for the Row F header in the clues. “F” should be in front of the trivia mag clue, not the “maintained with confidence” clue.

Thanks for a lovely and not in the least painful puzzle.

117 entrants so far in your meta-contest!! We are rabid solvers!! Sucked in so easily by the lure of free puzzles (and in Matt’s case, brightly colored pens and pencils). Frankly, I just want to see my name on the blog. So childlike and so true. Will this be your first variety cryptic? I am a HUGE cryptic fan.
